Grace Jansen – From Biology to Building applications: My journey into a career in technology (EN)

Grace is a Developer Advocate at IBM, working with Open Liberty, MicroProfile and Cloud Technologies. She has been with IBM since graduating from Exeter University with a Degree in Biology. Grace enjoys bringing a varied perspective to her projects and using her knowledge of biological systems to simplify complex software patterns and architectures. As a developer advocate, Grace builds POC’s, demos and sample applications, and writes guides and tutorials. She is a regular presenter at international technology conferences and has recently authored a book on reactive systems. Grace also has a keen passion for encouraging more women into STEM and especially Technology careers.

Ivar Grimstad – All the new Features of Jakarta EE 10 in One Go (EN)

Jakarta EE 10 is here with lots of new features and improvements. In this session, Ivar will go through most of these features one by one with live coding examples of how to use them. As an example, you will learn how to adjust your applications to take advantage of the new CDI Lite specification in order to allow for native compilation. And how to use the brand new Java SE Bootstrapping API for Jakarta RESTful Web Services.

By attending this session, you will get the full overview of what Jakarta EE 10 brings to the table, including the brand new Jakarta EE Core Profile that targets smaller runtimes. You will also get a sneak peek into what to expect beyond Jakarta EE 10.

Ivar Grimstad is the Jakarta EE Developer Advocate at Eclipse Foundation. He is a Java Champion and JUG Leader based in Sweden.

Edwin Derks – The Life of a Java Champion & how to become one (EN)

Edwin Derks is principal consultant with Team Rockstars IT with a Java developers background, specialized in Java-related cloud migrations.

The Java Champions program consists of individuals that are thought leaders and influencers from the Java community. Currently governed and sponsored by Oracle, the program is adding members regularly by awarding them the prestigious Java Champion title for their efforts in the Java ecosystem. But who are these illustrious individuals, and what are their actual efforts that result in being awarded as a Java Champion?
